About UPSC Recruitment

The Union Public Service Commission ( संघ लोक सेवा आयोग ), commonly known as UPSC, is India’s premier central recruiting agency which was established on 1 October 1926  . 
It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for All India services and group A & group B of Central services.
UPSC conducts exams to recruit candidates into top government services like IAS, IFS and IPS.
UPSC Recruitment for candidates is done for both civil services as well as defence services.

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS). Also simply referred to as the UPSC examination,[2] it is conducted in three phases – a preliminary examination consisting of two objective-type papers (General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II also popularly known as Civil Service Aptitude Test or CSAT), and a main examination consisting of nine papers of conventional (essay) type, in which two papers are qualifying and only marks of seven are counted followed by a personality test (interview).

What is the Qualification needed for UPSC ?

Minimum qualification for UPSC exam is :

  • Candidate must hold a valid degree from Govt. recognized Universities or possess an equivalent qualification.
  • Final year students who are awaiting results can also apply for UPSC preliminary examination. Eligible candidates should produce proof of having passed the said examination while appearing for the main IAS examination.
  • Medical students who have passed the final year of MBBS, but are yet to complete their internship can also apply for IAS. Eligible candidates must produce proof of completion of course including internship for IAS Main Examinations.
What are the type of jobs available in UPSC ?

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Exams which is considered one of the most prestigious examinations in India for candidates who want to become IAS, IFS, IPS.
